What are the uppergastrointestinal symptoms

  • Fur on the tongue
  • Fur on the tongue is normal coating of tongue by a thin whitish film made up of epithelium, food debris and organisms. Excessive coating of tongue is seen in dehydration and febrile illnesses like enteric fever.
  • Heart burn (Pyrosis)-It is the sensation of warmth or burning located substernally or high in the epigastrium with often radiation to neck, occasionally to arms seen in lower oesophageal disease -GERD.
  • Acid Eructation-Acid eruction means eructation of small amount of acid gastric contents along with flatus.This is seen both in functional and organic diseases of the stomach.
